Jan Kuhlbrodt

Jan Kuhlbrodt was born in 1966 in Karl-Marx-Stadt / Chemnitz, graduated in political economy in Leipzig, philosophy in Frankfurt am Main and also studied at the German Literature Institute, meanwhile working as a teacher within a project involving juvenile offenders and as an antiquarian. From 2007 to 2010 Editor of the literary magazine EDIT. Member of the PEN-Zentrum Deutschland. He received a scholarship from the writers‘ promotion programme of the Foundation of Lower Saxony in 2007 and the Sächsischen Literaturpreis in 2014. He lives in Leipzig as a freelance writer and lecturer.
