Dagny Gioulami

born 1970 in Bern, lives in Zurich. She studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Zurich and was among others engaged at the Städtische Bühnen Münster, the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Stadttheater Bern and in independent productions.

Since 2000 Gioulami has written libretti and plays for the Zurich Opera House, the Hanover State Opera, the Stadttheater Bern, the Landschaftstheater Ballenberg and the Youth Club of the MoMoll Theater Schaffhausen, to mention but a few.
Her work Birds. Barks. Bones. (composition by Edward Rushton) received the British Composer Award in 2005.
From 2010 to 2013 she studied at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel. Her first novel Alle Geschichten, die ich kenne appeared in spring 2015 (Frankfurt am Main: weissbooks.w). Gioulami has received several awards for her novel, including the literary prize of the Canton of Berne and the shortlist of the Rauris Literary Prize.
